Lions' Excellent Play, Home Edge Boost Playoffs Chances

The San Francisco 49ers have demonstrated throughout the regular season that this team is a real Super Bowl contender. The 49ers are the top seed in the NFC and are set to host the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional Round. If you had told the 49ers in November that their path to the Super Bowl would involve beating Green Bay, and Tampa Bay or Detroit, they'd have taken it in a heartbeat. This team is built to win now and should be viewed as a heavy favorite in the NFC.

The Baltimore Ravens finished the regular season with the NFL's top record at 13-4. They made multiple statements throughout the year, including going on the road and obliterating the San Francisco 49ers. There are some injury concerns with this group, but Mark Andrews did open his practice window, which would be a huge addition for the Ravens if he can return at some point. Baltimore will host Houston in the Divisional Round and is a sizeable favorite, deservedly so. You can make a real case that the Ravens should be the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl.

Throughout the regular season, there were some real question marks about if this version of the Kansas City Chiefs could win the Super Bowl. With their performance in the wild-card round against the Miami Dolphins, they erased some of those doubts. Patrick Mahomes is still Patrick Mahomes, and this defense is elite. It would hardly be a surprise to see the AFC run through Kansas City again, but they'll face a much stiffer test in the Divisional Round against the Buffalo Bills on the road. Can Mahomes win his first road playoff game away from Arrowhead?

The Buffalo Bills have plenty of injuries on defense, but at this time of year, everyone is beat up. The Buffalo Bills still need to prove to us that they can get over the playoff hump, and they'll have a chance to erase some of their playoff demons when they host the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. With the way the playoff brackets are shaping up, there are real reasons to believe that this could be the year the Bills capture their first Super Bowl.

After stunning the Dallas Cowboys on wild card weekend, the Green Bay Packers are no longer going to take teams by surprise in the NFL playoffs. Jordan Love is for real, and looks the part of a franchise quarterback. The Packers will have a stiff test in the Divisional Round as they face the current Super Bowl favorite San Francisco 49ers. It'll be a tough task to get by the 49ers on the road, but this Packers team remains a very tough out. With how Green Bay has looked on both sides of the ball, this group certainly doesn't look like a seven-seed in the NFC.
