On Tuesday night, the LA Clippers will battle their in-town rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers. Entering this matchup, the Lakers have quietly put their inconsistencies to the side, winning eight out of their last ten matchups. However, that was before the blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for superstar Luke Doncic.
Fortunately for the Clippers, they won’t have to deal with the Lakers’ big addition in this rivalry just yet, which bodes well for their chances to get back in the win column. With one game separating these two teams in the Western Conference standings, expect both squads to enter this showdown looking to make a statement.
Lakers vs Clippers
- Location: Intuit Dome (Inglewood, California) | Date: Tuesday, Feb. 4th
- Where to Watch: TNT/truTV/Max | Time: 10:00 p.m. ET
- Spread: Clippers -8.5, Moneyline: Clippers -370, Total: 221.5
Lakers vs Clippers Best Bet: Lakers +8.5
The Lakers enter this matchup shorthanded after their blockbuster move mentioned above. In addition to their newcomers not being in line to suit up yet, the team is already dealing with some nagging injuries. Nonetheless, despite being shorthanded, their win on Saturday against the New York Knicks shows that Los Angeles has continued to step up to the challenge even when undermanned. Although they may not be able to steal a win on the road, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Lakers give the Clippers a close matchup.
Lakers vs Clippers Best Total Bet: Over 221.5
There’s no denying these two teams have the firepower to explode offensively on any given night, regardless of who’s on the floor. Although neither team will be 100% healthy, the rivalry between both teams will bring out a little more from the players on the court on Tuesday night. A final score of 117-110 seems like a realistic outcome.

Lakers Best Player Bet: Rui Hachimura 2+ Threes Made +110
Rui Hachimura entered this season with first-year head coach JJ Redick encouraging him to be more aggressive on offense and pushing him to shoot more. Throughout the season, he’s shown flashes of doing exactly that, and in the last two games without Davis, the Gonzaga product has elevated his game. In another matchup where Hachimura will likely be in the starting lineup, it won’t be a surprise to see the versatile forward finish with more than two threes. The former lottery pick has knocked down two or more triples in three of the team’s last four games.
Clippers Best Player Bet: Norman Powell 25+ Points +125
Norman Powell has taken a major leap this season following Paul George’s departure in free agency. The playmaker is averaging 24.1 points per game on the season, and in the team’s last four games, the 31-year-old has surpassed the 25-point mark three times. Assuming he continues his hot shooting on Tuesday, I’ll take the odds on another big game from Powell.
