Breakout College Football Stars to Know for the 2025 Season
2025 NFL Draft Position: #21 overall
Super Bowl LX Odds: +8000
After the Kenny Pickett selection didn't pan out, and without a starting quarterback, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Russell Wilson as a stopgap to help them compete in 2024. While it wasn't a complete loss, the Steelers desperately need a franchise quarterback to lead this team back to glory.
This is a natural sequel to the narrative that has followed the Steelers early in the offseason. Like Aaron Rodgers, Shedeur Sanders could see his draft position tumble. There are only a few quarterback-needy teams right now, and if any of them ahead of the Steelers decide to go in another direction, Sanders could slip further than anticipated.
Rather than inking Rodgers, the Steelers could be better off hoping an NFL-caliber quarterback falls into their laps in the NFL Draft. Sanders would be the absolute best-case scenario.

Tennessee Titans
Ranking the Top College Football Quarterbacks for 2025
2025 NFL Draft Position: #1 overall
Super Bowl LX Odds: +19000
As is the case every year, the Tennessee Titans have a decision to make with the first overall selection. The betting odds have shifted drastically, pointing toward Cam Ward as the preferred top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, a strong combine performance or pro workout could shift those odds back in Shedeur Sanders' favor.
Will Levis' tenure as the Titans' quarterback has been underwhelming. Tennessee finished the season with the sixth-fewest passing yards despite throwing the ball 56.4% of the time. As a result, they undoubtedly need an upgrade under center.
While Sanders has fallen out of favor as the presumptive first-overall pick, we wouldn't be surprised to see his stock rise ahead of the draft. His elite passing skills pair well with the Titans' receivers corps, and Sanders would immediately transform them.

New York Giants
Ranking the Top College Football Wide Receivers for 2025
2025 NFL Draft Position: #3 overall
Super Bowl LX Odds: +20000
We don't want to kick the New York Giants while they're already down, but passing on Shedeur Sanders would be the most 'Giants' thing to happen at Lambeau Field.
New York desperately needs a franchise quarterback, but they haven't been the most effective franchise at evaluating talent over the years. Somewhat shockingly, the team drafted Daniel Jones as the sixth overall selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. Subsequently, they chose him over Saquon Barkley last offseason, dooming the franchise to a complete rebuild.
Sanders' skillset would immediately improve the Giants. But we also don't trust them to make the right pick when they're called to the podium in Green Bay.
Las Vegas Raiders
Ranking the Top College Football Offensive Linemen for 2025
2025 NFL Draft Position: #6 overall
Super Bowl LX Odds: +20000
Derek Carr was the closest thing the Las Vegas Raiders ever had to a franchise quarterback. But even his tenure was abbreviated with limited success. From the sixth overall slot, the Raiders are in a position to secure their outlook for years to come.
Over the past two seasons, the Raiders have lined up five different players under center. Not surprisingly, that carousel has yielded only 12 wins for Las Vegas. More concerningly, they averaged the seventh-fewest yards per pass attempt in 2024, validating their need for a more reliable quarterback.
Like the Giants, the Raiders don't have a proven track record for evaluating talent. But if Sanders is available with the sixth-overall selection, the Raiders can't pass him up.
New York Jets
Ranking the Top College Football Running Backs for 2025
2025 NFL Draft Position: #7 overall
Super Bowl LX Odds: +16000
Kudos to the New York Jets. While other franchises have doomed themselves to years of underperforming by negligence, the Jets continue to make conscious decisions that don't work out. One of their biggest weaknesses over the past few seasons has been ineffective quarterback play, a disease they can cure with the proper draft selection.
The Jets have playmakers at every offensive position. Their running back duo has proven to be effective. On paper, Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson are among the top tandems in the league. They've invested in their offensive line to help insulate their play-calling. Still, they desperately need an effective quarterback to transform their offense.
Shedeur Sanders is the catalyst the Jets desperately need. If he's available at seven, the Jets need to take him.
