The Wolverines could climb to a 3-seed, which is probably their ceiling.

Oregon's non-conference resume is doing a lot of work to prop the Ducks up. They got a win on November 26 against Texas A&amp;M on a neutral floor and followed it up with a gigantic win over Alabama. The Ducks are still 9-6 in Quad 1 games and don't have any bad losses. Oregon could climb to a 5-seed if they can win over USC, IU, and at Washington to close the regular season.

The two losses have been by a total of eight points, but the Minnesota defeat was a Q3 loss. The Bruins have a huge showdown at Purdue on Friday night.

The Illini are now just 6-10 in Quad 1 games, including an attention-grabbing demolition at the hands of the Duke Blue Devils (110-67) to cap a three-game losing streak. Illinois is a potentially dangerous team, but they could also lose two more games and slide to a ten-seed.

A loss in either of those games could spell trouble.

Call it a firing. Call it a retirement. Call it a mutual parting of ways. However you want to phrase it, Mike Woodson will not be the head coach for the Indiana Hoosiers beyond this season. Since that announcement, the Indiana Hoosiers have knocked off Michigan State in East Lansing and Purdue in Bloomington to revive their NCAA Tournament hopes. They are now perched precariously on the edge of the bracket with no losses outside Quad 1 and a win at fellow bubble team Ohio State. IU closes with games at Washington and Oregon and a regular-season finale against Ohio State in a potential "play-in game" in Bloomington.

The record is not pretty, and the Buckeyes join Indiana squarely on the bubble. They need a strong close to the season to squeak into the tournament. OSU does have six Quad-1 wins, but they also have a losing record in Quad-2 games (3-4), including a ghastly 21-point home loss to Northwestern and a loss at home to Pittsburgh. The Buckeyes have surprisingly strong metrics. They close with Nebraska and at Indiana and need, at minimum, a split to earn a trip to Dayton. Win both of those games, and they are probably in the field as a ten-seed, but lose both, and they likely miss the Big Dance entirely.
